As its name suggests, the title poem, which she wrote while in Slovenia, takes its cue from the riddle, a traditional Slovenian form. Also included in the collection are the sequences The Lady and the Unicorn: An Bhean Uasal is an tAonadharcach and Monsanto written in Paris and Portugal respectively.

12.04.14 Seminar on Copyright & Authors' Rights by Samantha Holman CEO of the Irish Copyright Licensing Agency. The seminar will look at what is copyright and what does it allow and prevent? Is it a barrier to innovation or does it adequately protect creators' rights. The recent publication of the Copyright Review Committee's recommendations for change in Ireland and Judge Chin's decision favouring Google in the Google Books case make for interesting times in the world of copyright. If you want an understanding of where we are and where things might be heading or even just to ask some basic questions about copyright, this seminar is for you! Cost: €30 non members; €25 members

15.04.14 A reading with Colin Carberry...

Reaching readers...

Here is a suggestion for reaching readers...

Below is a link to a website that promotes reading... but I think we can learn from it and apply similar principles to cultivate an interest in our writing... so that when we do come to publish our Anthology next year... we have generated interest in our writing... This would require setting up a You Tube channel and then posting up videos of us reading snippets of our work to whet people's appetite...

What do you think of the idea?

Anthology deadline set for International Women's Day 2015

Speaking at the launch of the Kerry Women Writers' Network on Saturday 8th March, at Tralee Bay Wetland's Centre, Minister Jimmy Deenihan set a deadline for the production of the KWWN anthology in time for International Women's Day 2015.

The launch of the Network was a great success with approximately 100 people in attendance. The audience was entertained to a selection of poetry and prose from the network's writers ... each writer was given 3 minutes in which to delivery a sample of their work, making it a fast paced event that was made all the more enjoyable thanks to music and singing by Karrie... http://www.karriesmusic.com, Ruti Lacs, and Ronnie Moore.

Below are some photos from the event...
